What to Bring

This is private hunting on private property and there are no requirements to wear any particular colour. Our clients prefer camouflage or hunter’s green. 

The following checklist will be useful in planning your hunting trip:

• Firearm or bow and ammunition or hunting arrows of your choice
• Binoculars
• Rangefinder (optional)
• Waterproof walking boots
• Rain gear
• Light jacket
• Insulated jacket
• Headwear – light
• Headwear – insulated
• Gloves – light
• Gloves or Mitts – insulated
• Light pants
• Insulated pants or jumpsuit or long underwear
• Sleeping bag
• Personal effects, such as medication and toiletries

The weather is usually very pleasant in September and October. It is uncommon to have snow in September. Snow is somewhat more likely in October and November. One should be prepared for winter weather after approximately November 15.

Hunting in winter conditions can be very pleasant so long as one is properly dressed, and the necessary equipment is available. McKen Hunting is prepared for and accustomed to winter hunting.
